Sovereign Endurance

 Dear Diary,

A split-screen graphic. Top: A misty, frost-edged window looking out at cold October trees. Bottom: A woman with a dirty blonde bob and glasses, wearing a grey brand hoodie, writing with her left hand in a journal. The pages glow with pink, purple, green, orange, and yellow hues. In a window behind her, a mystical sailing ship navigates a dark, foggy sea under a starry sky.

October has arrived with its damp, heavy mists and the first real bite of the North Wind. The 'Golden Transition' of last month has faded, and the battle between my body and the temperature has shifted into a new phase. If September was my 'Optimal,' October is my 'Testing Ground.'

I can feel the change in my muscles before I even open my eyes. The spasticity is no longer 'loose'—it is beginning to tighten. The cold is like an invisible weight on my limbs, and my arthritis is starting to hum a low, constant tune of discomfort. This is the beginning of the 'Stuck' months.

But unlike the years of transition, I am not afraid. I’ve prepared the vessel. The central heating is humming, and my microwavable heat pads are in constant rotation. There is a specific kind of endurance required to maintain Life with Sweetestmoondust right now. My ADHD brain wants to fly, but my body is moving through treacle. Now, I use my Collaborative Process. I’ve accepted that my pace must be different. I am still the captain, but I am navigating through a thick fog.

I’m up early-ish, but the 'washing and doing' takes longer. Because Be Who You Want to Be is out, I don't feel the pressure to perform. I have the receipts of success. October is when the voyage becomes internal. I am finding poems in the shadows and strength in the stillness as I work on The Long Way Down.

Global Note: To my friends in the UK, we are entering the long dark together. Stay warm, stay safe, and remember: no hot water bottles! To my followers in the US, China, and beyond—check in on your bandwidth today. Your support groups are your lighthouse. Reach out before you feel completely frozen."
